La casa di riabilitazione per bambini è pensata come una famiglia a supporto dei bambini rifugiati del mondo, costretti a lasciare le loro terre e le loro case. Una famiglia che li supporti nel favorire i valori del confronto, del dialogo e delle differenze e ad accrescere i processi socio-culturali collettivi positivi, senza perdere l’identità dei luoghi d’origine. La casa nasce come rifugio: esprime il rapporto primordiale uomo-natura, uomo-territorio. La negazione della casa induce insicurezza e paura. La perdita della casa per un bambino è la negazione della sua serenità, del suo futuro. La casa si delinea come il luogo centrale della condivisione e della creazione di relazioni, come nella famiglia tradizionale di origine Mediterranea. La conoscenza e il rispetto per le culture locali sono alla base della creazione di un sistema centripeto, che ricorda numerosi modi di abitare comunitario nel mondo. Gli elementi più intimi della casa, come il rifugio per la notte, convergono dall’esterno verso il centro, dove si trovano gli spazi fulcro della socialità familiare, mediante un passaggio graduale, filtrato e con ambiti differenti. Si crea uno spazio fluido, alternato, progressivo che favorisce la capacità di vivere esperienze positive e collettive a stretto contatto con la natura.

L’intero progetto si sviluppa dall’idea di un sistema centripeto, visto come la reinterpretazione delle strutture della società tradizionale. La corte centrale aperta è il cuore del sistema e lo spazio del riunirsi. Attorno ad essa si collocano le sale semi-aperte dell’educazione, del gioco e altre attività condivise; e gli spazi filtro, come proiezioni all’aperto delle sale. Una serie di percorsi radiali si sviluppano dal 0centro ai margini, dove si trovano gli intimi rifugi notturni per i bambini e i tutor. Il sistema è immerso nella natura, i tetti e le porte sono quasi inesistenti, in un ideale contatto con le radici naturali di ogni essere umano.

Rehabilitation house for children is the idea of a family who supports unfortunate children around the world, who are forced to leave their homes and lands. Thus trying to facilitate comparison, dialogue and differences, and increasing collective and positive socio-cultural processes, without losing the bond with their origins and identity. The house, born as a shelter, is the primordial feeling between man and nature, man and land. The denial of the house brings uncertainty and fear. For children, loosing their home is to deny their future. To imagine a house for children who are far away from home means to give them hope again, give them a future. This house is the place of the central sharing and helps the making of social relations, like traditional Mediterranean family does. Knowledge and respect for local cultures are the fundamentals of the centripetal system widespread in many communities all over the world. Intimate elements of the house, like night shelter, merge from outer to the center, where the core of social relations is, with graduated, filtered and different transitions of spaces. Fluid and progressive space supports the ability to live positive and collective ideal experiences close to nature.

The project The whole design develops from the idea of the centripetal system, as the reinterpretation of the traditional society and structures. The central open courtyard is the core and the place of gathering. Around it are the semi-open rooms of education, game and other social shared activities; and the filter spaces, as outdoor projections of the rooms. A series of radial paths develop from the center to the edges, where intimate night shelters and little houses for children and tutors are. The system is surrounded by nature, and roofs and doors are almost non existent, as an ideal contact with every human being roots.
